Fitchburg, MA
Fitchburg is hard at work reinventing itself through architectural renovation, cultural activities, recruitment of new companies, and downtown revitalization. It is in this context that Fitchburg's Millennial Celebration took place. Composer Barbara White created a march to capture the essence of the city, reflecting and integrating its physical landscape, including hills, enclaves, river, and abandoned mills, as well as its cultural and ethnic heritage.

Red Rock Rondo's new CD of Phillip Bimstein's Zion Canyon Song Cycle is the #10 album on the November Folk DJ chart, with "When President Harding Came to Zion" the #7 song. (Utah Continental Harmony)

It's been called "gorgeous" (David Burger, Salt Lake Tribune), "magnifico" (Mollie O'Brien), "awesome" (Maggie Ferguson, WXOU), "beautiful" (Connie Dover) "Folk/Americana music with well-spun yarns" (Jamie Gadette, City Weekly). Their full quotes are here.

As Dan Nailen of Salt Lake Magazine reported on KUER-FM: "Zion National Park turns 100 years old in 2009 ... Perhaps nothing will celebrate the park and its past quite as uniquely as the band Red Rock Rondo does on its new Zion Canyon Song Cycle album. The 16 songs are the result of research ... oral histories and historic materials that infuse the album's songs with imagery that take the listener back in time, and right to the doorstep of Zion's majestic topography."
